In our post-COVID world, the return to office (RTO) wave has upended the lives of many white-collar workers who finally experienced the vast number of benefits remote work has to offer. With so many being forced back into the office by companies desperate to recreate their pre-pandemic world, job boards are now flooded with desperate job seekers looking for any remote position they can find. Scammers have taken note of the current trend and are preying on the desperate and naive with scores of fake job postings, adding chaos and uncertainty to an already daunting process.
Navigating the job market can be challenging for the average job seeker, with significant time often wasted on sifting through numerous job postings to identify those that genuinely offer remote opportunities. However, there’s now a solution that is not only easy to use but also free to everyone. On January 14th, 2024, Reddit user /beeneeb shared a link to their newly created site, Brian’s Job Search.
The platform scans the latest job listings across various online sources to identify remote opportunities, providing users with the flexibility to filter postings based on job titles and posting dates. Users can specify their search criteria further by choosing postings from the ‘Past 24 hours,’ ‘Past week,’ or ‘Past month.
As the platform creator explains, “By default, the resulting search links contain the word ‘remote’. I’ve found that it sometimes will pick up some postings that aren’t remote if the job description contains something ‘this is not a remote position. We want you to be local.’ However, most of the listings are remote.”
